Un silence à perte d’oreille is a musical and photographic narrative about Finland.
I wanted to write this concert following a cycle of almost ten years of residencies, creations and tours with dancers Saku and Laura Koistinen, and after spending time alone in different parts of the country composing music and collecting sounds and images.
This is a solo for bandoneon, Logelloop and field recording. The music is electroacoustic, coming from my bandoneon or from recordings of natural sounds that I transform in real time and spatialize on a set of 24 loudspeakers that envelop the audience in immersive sound.
During this concert, in the style of a travelogue, I tell the search for silence, geographical and musical minimalism, seasons that have become uncertain and the quest for the song of the ice, that extraordinary sound that can only be recorded in rare conditions.
I also present some photos and videos taken in extraordinary places: a fisherman on a lake, birds in the snow, the luminous night of May, the red sun in Lapland…

Un silence à perte d’oreille will be created in 2025 and 2026. As with my previous concerts, the creation process will be punctuated by several concerts, each with a different version, leading to the final version in autumn 2026.
